Gerald Buccafusco Announces Run for Belmar Council

Gerald A. Buccafusco announced his candidacy for Belmar councilperson. Buccafusco was nominated by the Belmar Democratic Committee to run on the Democratic ticket in the June 8, 2021 Primary. An attorney and retired administrator for the New Jersey Judiciary, Buccafusco previously ran as an Independent for the Council in 2020, garnering 592 votes.

“Serving the community as a member of the Council is my top priority. Many decisions by the current Council will have long term effects on the future of the Borough. I will work to ensure these critical decisions be made in the best interests of the residents and taxpayers. My promise is to serve as a diligent, honest, and effective member of the Belmar Council.”

Top issues for Buccafusco include: increasing transparency, accountability and trust; demanding fiscal responsibility and sound financial planning and managing redevelopment within the requirements of Borough Master Plan and Seaport Redevelopment Plan.

Buccafusco, who frequently engages the Mayor and Council on important issues stated, “I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and lack of discussion by the Council on many issues. The public has the right to know what its government is doing and this Council appears intent on limiting that right. It is also time to eliminate the blatant cronyism supported by taxpayer funds that exists in this Administration.”

Buccafusco, a summer resident for over 60 years has lived full-time in Belmar for the past 6 years along with his wife, Marlene, daughter, Marissa and dog, Bo.

Gerald Buccafusco has also officially launched his campaign website today, GeraldBuccafusco.com. If you have an interest in attending a campaign event in the near future, please contact the campaign at BuccafuscoForBelmar@gmail.com and please feel free to contact us for more information using one of our online resources below:
